gokusen + h2 + ikebukuro west gate park. delinquents + baseball + violence. rookies.

why?

good story. great cast. great soundtrack (or at least i love GReeeeN's kiseki.)

unpredictable. not your usual feel-good sports drama. was left wondering about the outcome of their every match.

seasoned actors. most of the cast were really way too old to act as high school kids. one played a high school kid years ago, then a gay college kid and then he's back to playing a high school kid once again. another one's married (to one of my favorite actresses.) one played a boxer/host (guess which one, this totally surprised me.) one used to play geeky roles and has already portrayed a high school baseball player a few years ago. another one was just way too tall (he totally kicked his mabudachi's butt in playing badass.) all were very effective though. they never really focused on each character but in the end everybody just seemed too important/familiar.

and last but definitely not the least...

aniya. aniya's deep voice, mischievous smiles and... he somehow manages to make a high school uniform look so sexy. ;)
