weeeee! hockeeey! :D had fun during the lesson today. brought my puck (thanks ry) to the rink today but didn't use it much (sabi ni coach masisira lang daw.) am still a very slow skater. nyways, coach (who had a haircut and was wearing an earring :P) allowed me to practice after our lesson (had this small space in the rink with cones around it) so i got to practice shooting. i can finally make the puck hit the board na more than 6 inches from the floor (na hindi tsamba). it's actually nothing but am so happy with it (the kid i was with can hit it up to 3 ft.) some of the coaches joined us and they make it seem effortless. haay... someday. :)

btw, mall of asia is opening soon. on the 9th ata. olympic-size skating rink... nice. :)

Is tomato a fruit or vegetable?

To really figure out if a tomato is a fruit or vegetable, you need to know what makes a fruit a fruit, and a vegetable a vegetable. The big question to ask is, DOES IT HAVE SEEDS?

If the answer is yes, then technically, you have a FRUIT. This, of course, makes your tomato a fruit. It also makes cucumbers, squash, green beans and walnuts all fruits as well. VEGETABLES such as, radishes, celery, carrots, and lettuce do NOT have seeds (that are part of what we eat) and so they are grouped as vegetables.
Now don't go looking for tomatoes next to the oranges in your grocery stores. Certain fruits like tomatoes and green beans will probably always be mostly referred to as "vegetables" in today's society.

had a haircut yesterday (finally! after almost 6 mos.) it seems that when i'm out of money that's when i like spending more. bought rechargeable batteries for my digicam too. a pair of fully charged batteries only lasts less than a day and the charging takes 9 hours (yes, nine hours.) Gerry (my officemate) was able to buy a fast charger (only takes around an hour) for only Php900 but he got it in greenhills. problem is i can't go to greenhills alone so i bought a super slow charger for ~Php1300. stupid, stupid me (i knew this even before i bought the thing.) oh well, at least it came with 6 batteries. a pair actually costs almost 500 bucks so it's still ok i guess (trying to convince myself.)

didn't get to skate yesterday. didn't feel like it (i had to finish watching the cds i borrowed so i was late.) didn't wanna skate with too many people in the rink. Mika told me that last week some people actually got hurt. one got a slash(?) on his/her face. ouch! wouldn't want to witness something like that.

borrowed knockaround guys, 13 going on 30 and the wedding crashers. despite the all-star cast of knockaround guys (John Malkovich, Dennis Hopper, Vin Diesel, Seth Green, etc.) i really couldn't finish the movie. it started really slow so i got bored. i read somewhere that it picked up around the middle part but after 40 slow minutes i couldn't really take it anymore. 13 going on 30 is... ok i guess. i'd like to have a "matt" someday. the wedding crashers was hilarious. rachel mcadams seems to be in a lot of good movies lately. owen and vince were funny.

saw my coach when i returned the cds. snob pala yun sa personal (labo ko!) :D

my toys... break-ups are expensive. tried tennis but that didn't work (way too lazy to enroll again.) anlayo kasi ng UP (actually hindi, tinatamad lang talaga.) tried skating and it worked! drat! why'd it have to be an expensive sport. the skating rink is the best place to forget something, you'd be too engrossed on staying on your feet that you won't have time to think about anything else (not to mention there are a lot of cute guys around... who are btw way too young for me.) the rollerblades (inline skates) aren't really for the break-up thing, it was for the time i couldn't skate in mega (when i had chicken pox.)

movies i watched this week...


don't give up on us... yep, i watch tagalog movies and i enjoy watching them (as long as it's nakakakilig.) am a bit concerned that i might become a piolo-juday fan (wehehehe... wag naman sana :P). they do have chemistry. i heard that sa piling mo is good. i watch it occasionally and get updates from my closet fan officemate :D



the perfect man... a typical teenager movie. nothing new but it's not that bad (at least hillary duff wasn't her skinny version yet here.)





garden state... a very nice movie. natalie portman and the guy from scrubs. i like that guy, he's funny. found this movie funny (but it's not so mababaw-funny.) it's one of those movies that in the end i know i missed something but i still like it.




before sunset... a movie i didn't want to end yet but sadly it did. all-talk but very good. i wanted to watch before sunrise before this but i couldn't find a copy.





ocean's twelve... my roommate is a big fan of brad pitt so the next movies i watched after this has brad in it. it was still funny but was way too sleepy to appreciate it more.





the favor... an old movie. bill pullman, a young brad pitt and the mom in all i want for Christmas. it was ok i guess (can't think of anything else to say about it :D.)






ocean's eleven... it's been a long time since i watched this (almost 5 years) and i couldn't remember most of the scenes (which was good for me). it was still nice, probably liked it better this time than the first time i watched it. twelve was better though.

got a new toy! not the one on the picture, the one that took it. :) it's a relatively cheap camera and it's only 4MP and costs $163. should have gotten the A530 but it was still a bit expensive when we placed our orders. am a novice at taking shots but i'm enjoying taking them. will play with it when i get home but the problem is i still don't have spare batteries. hope the batteries will last the whole night. sayang i didn't have this yet when we went to ek.

june 11, 1999, the day i first started swearing... i was on the space shuttle ride, it was my first time ever to ride a roller coaster and i had no idea it was gonna go backwards. well, what'd you expect? anyways, after almost 7 years i went back to ek yesterday (with my highschool friends). the ride didn't seem as scary as before but it was still pretty exciting. most of the rides there were the same but they had one great addition: the kart trak. we went karting! one more thing to cross off my list. it was fun! (even though i did go off the track, couldn't make the turn in time :P)

my neck hurts, am not sure if it's from the space shuttle or the bump cars. been wondering what the objective of bump cars is. is it to bump the most cars or to avoid getting bumped by the other cars? hmmm... i guess it's both but all i did was bump into the other cars, it's more fun that way. anchors away ain't the same anymore (doesn't go 90 degrees anymore). i hate the rio grande rapids. ugh! i hate getting soaked (my fault for ignoring all the signs saying that the ride will get you wet). condor was no longer in operation. sayang, it was a fun ride for sightseeing. i still didn't ride the swan thing, didn't see the point.

all in all, it was a fun day. thanks son-nods for letting me tag along. :)

seen mean girls, wimbledon and the wedding date last night. was supposed to watch it during the break but then i finished it last night. hmmm... have nothing to do later (or for the next 3 days for that matter). wimbledon was so nice :) am no fan of kirsten dunst but i've seen a lot of her films and i like her character in wimbledon, so carefree and determined. this girl gets a lot of good parts in good movies (kissing brad pitt while she was still a kid!). wish i could play tennis like that. mean girls was also nice. jonathan bennett is hot! was wondering who he looked like. my roommate said that he reminded her of TJ Trinidad (hmmm... must say i agree). the wedding date is ok i guess. am a sucker for happy endings. not much kilig factor though.

must be hard to go to the office at 8am. nobody does that here (unless you're new or you have an early meeting). even 9am is too early for me. hell, even 10 is still early. i'm usually even late for my 11am skating class. mornings should be for sleeping(!).

a few months ago while we were eating in the cafeteria my officemate asked why the sky is blue? all i could think of was "kasi gusto ni God?" it's one of those questions that you know was taught in school but couldn't really recall the explanation. it's also one of those probable questions your kid might ask you so i figured i should at least check out the explanation. something about wavelengths and spectrums and stuff. i'm betting my kid won't understand that (at least i still have my "kasi gusto ni God" explanation as a backup).

saw my crush last night :P made me smile. :)

just read a blog that i found funny. it wasn't funny because he was trying to be funny but mainly because most of what he was saying was so true. here's the link to my friend's friend's blog. :D

my weekend

the kid's ok. was so relieved. thank God! thanks for answering my prayers. am more frightened now of speeding up. was slow before but slower now :( got new gloves (it's got this nice leather scent). bought it from my coach (i get bruises and blisters from holding the stick) but i still got bruised on my palm.

finished watching spring days (aka spring sun) and it was nice. was rooting for jo in sung from the start and am glad he got the girl (go hyun jung) in the end. seen go hyun jung in sandglass and was so surprised that she still looks the same. it's been a decade since her last series and it's like she hasn't aged. most people think she's not attractive but i find her beautiful. ji jin hee looked better in jewel in the palace than in this series.

seen close to you, cutting edge 2 and just like heaven last weekend. close to you was nice (sam and lloy-d, what more can i ask for :P). cutting edge 2 was about kate and doug's daughter. not as nice as the first one but it's ok i guess. just like heaven was also nice. didn't like reese before but she's ok now.

had a facial yesterday. the process still hurts a lot (i cried from the pain). also went to marikina(?) for the dress fitting. jovs is getting married in june (10 - figured i should jot it down here in case i forget again :D). they're making me wear a yellow dress... waaaahhh!!! just perfect for my complexion :( oh well, anything for jovs and dionne. (jovs, thanks for the libreng pamasahe and lunch kahit na di mo ako tinulungan sa pagbubuhat ng bag ko. thanks din kay benj and beej for the ride to megamall. =>)

nga pala, today is ate's (susan) birthday. happy birthday te! :D
